Meet Jakub, the owner behind Roofkeeper

Roofing isn’t just what I do—it’s a trade I’m proud to have built my career around. After moving to Canada, I spent five years with one of the Lower Mainland’s established roofing contractors, eventually becoming a foreman and leading residential roofing projects from start to finish. The experience I gained became the foundation for Roofkeeper.

Before moving to Canada from the Czech Republic, I earned a bachelor’s degree in business and spent three years in corporate management. Although I valued that experience, I was always drawn to hands-on work and decided to pursue a career in the trades, starting with carpentry and exterior renovations before eventually specializing in roofing. Looking back, it was the right decision.

Today, I combine my business background with years of hands-on roofing and exterior experience to help homeowners, strata corporations, property management companies, and fellow contractors throughout North and West Vancouver. Many of the projects I take on involve complex repairs, roof replacements, preventative maintenance, leak investigations, inspections, and custom solutions that require experience—not just installing shingles.

As an owner-operated business, I work directly with every client from the first phone call to the final cleanup. Every project is approached based on the specific needs of the home rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, and I believe clear communication, reliability, and quality workmanship should be part of every job.

Professionalism is one of the core values behind Roofkeeper. That’s why I carry $2 million in commercial general liability insurance, maintain WorkSafeBC coverage, keep my fall protection certification current, handle all required municipal permits, provide workmanship warranties on completed projects, and continue investing in industry training.
